I am a dog lover. My Bloodhound Webb is pretty much a constant companion when I’m away from work and sometimes while I’m at work. Dogs are pretty easy to love because they’re so easy about life…most of them at least.
So I was thinking about how nice it would be if my customers and/or prospects really did act like dogs. My life sure would be a lot easier. Here’s some examples of how selling to people would be easier if only they acted like dogs:

Logo apparel is typically one of the first marketing items to be cut from the budget when times get a little tough, sales aren’t hitting projections, etc. It is often understandable that a company won’t be buying shirts for some employees while laying off others. That isn’t exactly the right message to be sending.
So last year was definitely an off year for apparel suppliers. How have they responded? By cutting prices first of all and by introducing some new and more attractive styles too.

I just got back from the “big show” in Vegas last week. For those of you who do not know, that is the promotional product’s biggest product show where suppliers display their wares for distributors. There actually is one in Orlando, Florida a week earlier that is pretty big as well.

Anyway, the show is HUGE. If one really wanted to spend a fair amount of time at most of the booths, it’s almost impossible. The tradeshow portion lasts for 3 days and you can honestly have trouble getting through the whole thing in that amount of time. It is big.
