A Promotional Products Apparel Success Story

I recently had a local client that is a manufacturer contact me about some uniform shirts for their employees. They had been using one of the national uniform services but felt the cost of those was getting out of control.
This particular company, believe it or not in this economy, is experiencing substantial growth in their business. One of those “we can’t keep up with it all” type situations. They manufacture private label food products.
Due to the tremendous growth in their business they’ve added many employees recently.
After discussing their situation with them we recommended an “easy care” shirt that is a polyester and cotton blend. It is wrinkle and stain resistant which we thought would be best for obvious reasons (factory workers, food products). In addition the client decided that different departments or job duties would have different color shirts so it would be easy to recognize to which department they belonged, or who was a supervisor for instance.
The shirts were delivered a couple weeks ago. I met with the client today and she told me that the staff LOVED the shirts (they were fairly colorful) and it made the appearance of the whole facility look so much better. Even the receptionist asked if I was responsible for all those colorful shirts the production staff was wearing.
A lot of companies have cut back on apparel purchases for their employees as budgets have tightened. But after seeing and hearing about what these shirts, which were under $20 each, did for this company, I seriously wonder how smart that is. Maybe your company could use a little morale boost with some nice shirts or other apparel? It is pretty inexpensive advertising too!
What do you think?

Overall I’m a fairly positive person. It would be hard to succeed in sales without being so. But I am so tired of hearing about “the economy”: unemployment is up, the national deficit is astronomical, investors are not investing, the economy shows no growth, the sky is falling, etc.

There’s been a bit of trouble in the Catholic Diocese of Nashville recently. It all started when a local priest, Father Joe Pat Breen, said that Catholics do not necessarily have to obey the Pope. In a nutshell he said when your conscience tells you otherwise, and you’ve prayed over it and feel you are right, do what your conscience says and it’s between you and God.
Boy, I could do some heavy rationalization on some issues there and convince myself it’s okay…but I digress.

If puppies aren’t one of the most joyous creations on this planet, I don’t know what is. Puppies have more fun than should be legal.
Think about the average day for a puppy. They wake up pretty much when they want to, doesn’t matter if it is 4 AM or 9 AM. Pretty much all they have to do is let out a little yelp and their person is there to take care of them. Don’t hammer me with whether it’s right to respond to them always, etc. I’m not writing a training blog here, just a puppy blog!
